How Do the Creative Writing Summer Courses Work?
In our series of intensive courses, you’ll spend a week fueling your passion for your creative aspirations. Beyond investing in your creativity, you’ll earn real college credit in just a few days. Our courses give you a taste of what an MFA in Creative Writing at the Mount looks like, so you can experience our graduate courses before committing to a full degree or certificate program.
Your time in the summer program will also help you connect with MSMU faculty and renowned industry professionals. All of our courses are taught on-site at our historic Doheny campus, just south of downtown Los Angeles. Each course lasts two days, and students can take up to three classes throughout the week for a total of three possible college credits - at a 40% discounted tuition rate!

How to Apply to the Creative Writing Summer Experience
Our application process is free and easy! We don’t require an application essay, letter of recommendation or portfolio submission. You only need a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and an official transcript.
Each one-unit course is billed at $665, which brings the total cost for the full experience of three credits to $1,995. This price is a 40% discount from our traditional graduate tuition, and all of your credits can be transferred to our MFA in Creative Writing or one of our two graduate certificate programs.
